Pixels for Christchurch
It all started with the idea of building Christchurch back one brick at a time. Johnson from Fly Creative & Kiel McNaughton from Shortland Street fame (also a director & producer) came to us looking for help to create an animated piece to promote Pixels for Christchurch, a charity that will raise money by selling its pixels. Each set of pixels bought would reveal a small part of the art work by New Zealand artist Shane Hansen (famous on his art work on wooden media.)
Our ideas lead to this video which involved about 30 extras, a studio with a massive green screen, lots of kids, lots of wooden pixels been thrown around and heaps of animation work!
Tan Desai from Desaign Animation Studio, co-directed the video along with Kiel.
Desaign was responsible for the entire post production, animation & stylistic direction.
The end result is something we are very proud of.
